Red Dead Redemption Video Expose
Written by Paul Waltz

Red Dead Redemption is my most anticipated sandbox game of 2010, yes even more than Fallout: New Vegas.  The idea of Rockstar making a game set in the waning days of the Wild West is incredibly exciting.

Here is a four video Red Dead Redemption expose to help combat the crushing anticipation until its release on April 27th. EDIT: The release date has been pushed back to May 18th!

Written by TheDark
Halo 3 ODST

Halo 3 ODST was released today (finally), and I picked up a copy today on my lunch break... and after a quick look at IGN's review (9.0), I couldn't be more excited to play it. I found out that it not only has the full game, but also a bonus disk preloaded with all the Halo 3 map packs, as well as an invite to join in the Halo Reach Beta! So go out and get yourself a copy now!

Gangstar: West Coast Hustle
Written by Administrator
Gangstar: West Coast HustleI have some surprising news today!  It look as if Gameloft, the people who were able to put Assassins Creed on the iPhone and iPod Touch, are making an open world GTA clone called Gangstar: West Coast Hustle.  I have been wanting a full 3d action/sandbox game on my iPod Touch for a while now, and thanks to this I may get one... but there may be a catch.  Games like GTA are very "controller intensive" and I doubt they will be able to perfect not only camera controls, but movment as well.  This looks like a wait and see kind of thing, but I'll still be holding my breath!  Click here to see the official preview at IGN.com!

Prototype Review
Written by TheDark
PrototypeNews a-plenty after E3 this year, and unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I was on vacation through the entire show, and was unable to post updates on all the new games and game ad-ons.  I will do my best to get back on track, starting with IGN's review of Prototype!  Now at a glance Prototype looks like an action packed open world game... and that glance sums it all up.  The story isn't exactly original, with the classic "you wake up without a clue of your past, and you go on a quest to try to figure out what happened to you". Sure, most sandbox games aren't known for their in depth story-line, but that really isn't an excuse to half ass it.  On a better note, the gameplay itself looks to be very over the top.  Large numbers of enemies such as tanks, helicopters, and the ever generic soldier, charge at you all at once, in crazy, unrelenting swarms.  To close, I'll just say rent this game first, and buy if you deem it worthy.

Infamous Review
Written by Administrator
InfamousNow I'll admit, I don't own a Playstation 3, but if there was one PS3 exclusive sandbox game that would convince me to buy one, its this.  Infamous is a third person action adventure game, where you take control of a new hero, Cole, as he try's to kick start (No pun intended) the city after it was overrun by gangs and violence while he was in a coma.  Plot sound generic?  It is... but that doesn't stop it in any way shape or form from being a truly outstanding game.  Take a look at the official review here, and mark your calendars for the May 26th release.

Fallout 3: Broken Steel Review
Written by Administrator
Fallout 3: Broken SteelThe latest DLC for Fallout 3 was just released yesterday, upping the level cap to 30, and adding new quests/weapons/armor/locations to this already huge sandbox game.  Unfortunately it's not been released for Playstation 3, but Xbox 360 and PC versions are available.  IGN gave it an 8.5, and by my books, that deserves a download.  If you want another reason to get back into Fallout, click here to buy it now from the Xbox Marketplace, or for all PC users, you must download Games for Windows Live to get your copy.

Red Faction: Guerrilla Update
Written by Administrator
Thanks to a recent comment, I'm aware that Red Faction: Guerrilla is in fact, a sandbox game.  I recently played a demo for it, and enjoyed how you can break, blow up, and beat anything in the world.  You can literally take a sledgehammer, beat down supports on a building and watch it fall!  I don't know if it's just me, but there's something oddly satisfying about that.  If you have an Xbox 360, and want to try the demo, follow this link to download the demo automatically when you start up your 360.  Note that the demo is on the Playstation store as well, but unfortunately, no PC demo is available as of late.

The Saboteur Unveiled
Written by TheDark
The SaboteurHey all!  On todays update I give you a preview for a new Sandbox Game called "The Saboteur".  If just the name alone gets you excited, you'll be thrilled to hear it's from the creators of Mercenaries 1 and 2, Pandemic Studios!  The setting is in the WW2 era, and as such, the game has a unique style... one that I certainly won't be a fan of.  Some parts of the game will be in black and white.  Sure, some areas will have full color, but personally I enjoy seeing red blood... not grey.  You can check out the full preview here, and be sure to leave a comment!
